When the cold weather arrives, the search begins for heating solutions that help combat lower temperatures. With this in mind, today we are sharing some aspects to consider when making your choice.
First of all, it is important to understand the differences between fixed heating systems (fireplace inserts or air conditioning) and portable heating systems (oil heaters, fan heaters and radiators, among others). The former require a greater investment in installation by specialist technicians and produce heat quite gradually. The latter do not require any installation and are suitable for small rooms or more occasional needs.
So, if you are going to choose a portable heating system, learn about the characteristics of each type and choose the one that best suits your needs.

Oil Heater (Oil-Filled Radiator)
In this type of heater, heating elements warm the oil inside the metal structure, which in turn heats the air. Oil heaters are quiet, easy to transport and very safe, as they do not dry out the air or consume oxygen. It is estimated that these appliances reach their maximum performance after 20 minutes, allowing the heat to spread quite evenly.
With different sizes and power ratings, Flama offers various options—the 2357FL, 2362FL and 2366FL models are some excellent choices.
Mica Radiator
Mica technology allows you to heat your space quickly and quietly, providing heat radiation as natural as that emitted by the sun. Its special design allows airflow, both radiant and convective, to spread in all directions, maintaining a constant and comfortable temperature.
These appliances take 1 minute to reach maximum performance. This is the case with Flama’s 2330FL and 2335FL oil-filled radiators.
Convector Heater
A convector is a system whose heating surface transfers heat through the process of convection. Confused? In other words, this means that heat is transferred when cold air comes into contact with a hot surface and is then released.
These heaters are usually quiet and allow heat to be distributed evenly—although this happens gradually. Interested? Check out Flama’s 2386FL convector here.
Fan Heater
If you are looking for a heating system for short periods of use that produces heat very quickly, a fan heater may be the right choice for you. These appliances are lightweight, easy to transport and provide immediate heat. However, because they consume oxygen, and for greater comfort and safety, it is recommended that they be used for short periods of time.
If this is the right solution for you, check out Flama’s options: with a fan (for example, 2326FL) or ceramic heating (such as the 2318FL)—just choose your favorite!
