FAQ'S

What is a cooktop, and what types are available?

A cooktop is an essential appliance for cooking efficiently and safely. FLAMA models are available in different types, adapting to every need:
• Induction cooktops:Fast, safe, and energy-efficient.
• Ceramic glass cooktops:Modern design, easy to clean, and compatible with any type of cookware.
• Gas cooktops:Precise temperature control and greater power for traditional cooking.

How does an induction cooktop work?

FLAMA induction hobs use an electromagnetic field to heat only the base of the cookware, ensuring fast, safe, and efficient cooking. They only work with induction-compatible pots and pans.

One of the burners on my gas hob has a low flame. Why?

This is most likely due to a partial blockage in the injector. You should clean it thoroughly. If the problem persists, contact an Authorized Flama Technical Assistance Center.

Why are the grates on my gas cooktop starting to rust?

This usually happens due to the use of abrasive detergents. Avoiding this type of product should prevent rust from appearing on your gas hob grates.

What is the minimum distance required between the appliance and the extractor hood?

For a gas cooktop with a power rating of 7500 W, the minimum distance is 65 cm. For electric cooktops, the distance should be approximately 65 cm. Always consult the instructions for your cooktop and extractor hood.

My electric cooktop's display shows the error message H.

The H message on the display is simply an indication of residual heat in the heating zone. If the cooktop is completely cold, the message probably indicates a sensor fault. In that case, you should contact an authorized Flama Technical Assistance Center to resolve the problem.

What’s the best way to clean my electric cooktop?

Never use abrasive products or steel wool. Clean with a damp cloth and mild detergent (preferably a product specifically designed for cleaning ceramic glass). Let the detergent sit for a while, then remove it with a damp cloth. Afterwards, dry thoroughly with a soft, lint-free cloth.

What are the main differences between a ceramic hob and an induction hob?

The ceramic hob has electric heating elements that heat the cookware through the glass, while the induction hob has coils that generate a magnetic field, causing a large amount of heat to be released directly into the cookware.

My induction hob does not detect the cookware.

Make sure it is a container with a magnetized base suitable for induction cooktops and that it is an appropriate size. A container smaller than the induction zone may not be detected, preventing the cooktop from activating.

Does my induction cooktop require a specific type of cookware?

Yes. The pans must be made of ferrous metal. You can check whether your pans are suitable by looking at their information. They usually indicate which heat sources they can be used with.

Is it normal for the ceramic cooktop to turn on and off while operating?

Yes. The ceramic hob regulates the on and off times proportionally to the selected power.

Can I use a paella pan on my glass-ceramic cooktop?

Yes. You can use a paella pan on a ceramic glass cooktop, provided it has a heating zone with a sufficient diameter.
