Generally, this happens because limescale has built up inside. In these cases, the appliance will need to be descaled. Other causes may include accidentally using the electric kettle without water or using too little water, which activates the safety device that cuts off the power. Restart it as follows: wait 5 minutes for the electric kettle to cool down, then fill it with water again. Press the on/off button, and approximately 15 minutes later, the electric kettle will restart automatically and begin boiling.

The kettle may be overfilled, causing water to overflow and run down the outside of the side walls when it boils, or enter the internal steam ventilation system, which means that water will appear on the countertop near the base of the appliance. Condensation from the lid may also have run onto the countertop. Fill the kettle only to the maximum limit mark.

If the heating element or coil has limescale buildup, the heat produced is transferred only partially to the water. On the other hand, limescale promotes the formation of rust.

The filter traps limescale particles. It is important to clean it regularly with a brush or by immersing it in a container with a diluted descaling solution (vinegar or citric acid).

Yes. You can boil mineral water. However, if the water contains a lot of minerals, the stainless steel may stain easily (depending on the model). We recommend cleaning the kettle regularly.

No. It may look like there is room to add more water, but if you fill it beyond the maximum level it was designed for, it may overflow when the water boils. Do not overfill the kettle.
