Chestnuts in the microwave

How to roast chestnuts in the microwave:
1 Wash and prepare the chestnuts
2 Wash the chestnuts thoroughly to remove dirt and other residues.
3 Dry them with a clean cloth.
4 Make a shallow cut in each chestnut (in the shape of a cross or a slit along the side). This step prevents the chestnuts from bursting during cooking.
Place the chestnuts in a suitable container:
1 Choose a microwave-safe container and follow these recommendations.
2 Arrange the chestnuts in a single layer, without overlapping.
3 If desired, spray a little water over the chestnuts to prevent them from drying out.
4 Cover the container with a microwave-safe lid or a damp cloth.
Adjust the microwave time and power:
1 Each microwave may have slightly different cooking times, so follow these guidelines.
2 Medium-high power: Roast for 4 to 5 minutes.
3 Pause and stir: Stop the microwave halfway through and stir the chestnuts to ensure even cooking.
4 Check for doneness: If the chestnuts are still hard, roast them for another 1 or 2 minutes, always in short intervals.
Let them rest before serving:
1 After removing the chestnuts from the microwave, follow these steps.
2 Cover them with a dry cloth and let them rest for 2 to 3 minutes. This helps the shells come off more easily.
3 Peeling them while they are still hot is easier, so take advantage of them while they are warm.
