How to make crêpes in a sandwich maker in just 4 steps:
Prepare the batter: In a bowl, mix the flour, milk, egg, butter, and salt. Stir well until you have a smooth, lump-free batter. If you are making sweet crêpes, add the sugar and vanilla extract. Let the batter rest for 5 to 10 minutes to improve its texture.
Preheat the sandwich maker: Turn on your sandwich maker and wait until it has fully heated up. If your sandwich maker is not nonstick, lightly grease it with butter or oil to prevent the batter from sticking.
Cook the crêpes: Place a portion of the batter in the sandwich maker, spreading it evenly to create a thin layer. Close the lid and cook for about 3 to 5 minutes, checking that the batter is golden and firm. If necessary, turn the crêpe over to brown both sides. Carefully remove it and repeat the process until you have used all the batter.
Add the filling: Once the crêpes are ready, spread the desired filling over half of the crêpe. Fold it in half or roll it up, as you prefer. If the filling includes cheese or other ingredients that need to melt, you can place the crêpe back in the sandwich maker for 1 to 2 minutes.
